Fundraising for The Myton Hospices is in vogue this season

SALON owner Liz Usher will be making the jump of a lifetime when she takes part in a tandem skydive to raise money for The Myton Hospices next Saturday.

Mrs Usher, who has been the creative director of Vogue International in Tavistock Street, Leamington, for 21 years is constantly raising funds for the charity in memory of her parents by participating in various events including the Moonlight Walks and running her own fundraising activities at the salon.

Alan Peedle, a spokesman for the salon, said: “The skydive will be one of Liz’s more scary adventures but she is loving every minute of it especially the buzz it has created at the salon.

“All the staff, clients and Myton’s community fundraiser Nigel Adams are wishing her a safe landing.”

To celebrate her 50th birthday and the 30th anniversary of The Myton Hospices, Mrs Usher will be attending the The Masquerade at Leamington town hall on Saturday November 3.

The event, at which all those attending will remain anonymous by wearing masks, has been organised by Vogue with proceeds going to BBC Coventry and Warwickshire’s Myton Nurse Appeal.

Men are asked to wear a black tie or lounge suits and women can dress a sparkly as they like.

There will be a fizz reception, live music by The Inn Crowd, dancing, a string quartet, winter warming food and a few surprises along with a large number of raffle prizes.

These will include a week-long holiday to Portugal, a £300 Vogue transformation with Mrs Usher, a £700 dress from Revolve and an item from Peter Stephan Jewellery.

Some of the prizes will be auctioned to raise additional funds for the appeal.

The Myton Nurse Appeal is aiming to raise enough funds for Myton to employ more nurses.

It has raised £60,000 so far, enough for two more nurses. Tickets for the masquerade cost £45 per person or £35 each for a party of ten.

All guests will be entered into the prize draw and Myton fundraisers will be on hand to answer any questions.
