Getting in shape for the Regency Run

ATHLETES taking part in the Wright Hassall Regency Run can take part in a 10-week training programme to prepare for the event, regardless of ability level.

Organised by Spa Striders athletics, the CSW Athletics Network and the University of Warwick Endurance Academy, the training is on Wednesday evenings, starting on February 1.

It begins with a runners’ workshop, costing £5, at Trinity School, 10am-1pm, on January 22, that will be opened by former 5,000-metre world record holder, Dave Moorcroft.

There will be athletics coaches providing information on nutrition, injury management and training exercises.

To attend people must register by January 16 with name and address details by email to [email protected], with cheques payable to the University of Warwick, required by January 17, sent to the Endurance Academy, c/o Department of Physical Education and Sport, University of Warwick, Coventry CV4 7AL.

People must enrol for the training at the workshop or Spa Striders, Leamington Tennis Club, Guys Cliffe Avenue, on January 25, at 8pm.
