Globetrotting pianist heads to Warwickshire to support Myton Hospice

AN international prize-winning pianist who has played with some of the world’s most famous orchestra is travelling from Bulgaria to Eathorpe village hall next weekend to help raise funds for Myton Hospice.

Andrean Lazarov, whose speciality is Rachmaninov, will perform music by the composer, as well as by Ravel, Lizst, Schubert and Chopin in a recital at the hall, the proceeds of which will go to the charity.

Among the prestigious performers with whom the pianist has played are the London Symphony, Chicago Symphony and New York Philharmonic Orchestras and with Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Colin Davis and Valery Gergiev.

It is because he is a good friend of Eathorpe man David French that Mr Lazarov has agreed to take time out of his busy schedule to help with the village’s fundraising for Myton. The Christmas lights switch-on last year and a beer festival in January in the village together raised £2,700 for the charity.

Mr French said: “We were overwhelmed when he agreed to play here to help us raise funds for Myton Hospice. He is quite happy to play here and have an informal chat with the audience after the concert.”

The recital takes place next Saturday (February 25) at 8pm. Doors and the bar open at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12.50 (£11 concessions) and include a glass of wine. Call 632575 or email [email protected]
