Hear the stories of Warwickshire people in the First World War

Fallen Voiuce: Echoes of the First World War feature characters from the Warwickshire area, such as Private George Bubb of the Army Veterinary Corps, writing home to sweetheart Alice, or brother and sister Rollo and Dotty Feilding, who recount their experiences on the frontline as a Lt Colonel in the 3rd Battalion Coldstream Guards and an ambulance driver in letters to their mother.

The show, made up of material taken from Heritage and Culture Warwickshire’s archives, also tells the stories of the people back home, such as schoolchildren picking blackberries for the war effort, the women of St Nicholas parish in Kenilworth, making bed rests for the wounded, and a vicar who persuades his parish to ‘eat less bread’.

The show is performed by Kieron Attwood and Hannah Graham, with a musical score written and performed by Derek Nisbet.

Heritage and Culture Warwickshire is running a draw in which five people will win a pair of free tickets to see the show, which has been made possible thanks to funding from Warwick District Council’s Art Fund.
