Just a few months ago, it was an ancient wood teaming with wildlife.

Now the outskirts of South Cubbington Wood look unrecognisable.

HS2 workers have been busy this month, felling trees to make way for the new high speed line rail.

As we reported last week, the iconic and much-loved Cubbington pear tree was recently felled as part of the rail project - news that made headlines across the country.
