Hive of activity at free bee day today
LEAMINGTON environmental charity Action 21 is giving people the chance to make a beehive and learn how to handle bees at a free event today (Saturday).
At Hive of Activity, which will take place at the charity’s Sustainability Centre in Jephson Gardens, members of the Warwick and Leamington branch of Warwickshire Beekeeping Association will also talk about why the honeybee is vital to food production and there will be a free craft activity for children, who must be accompanied by an adult.
Action 21 is currently in need of volunteers to help with planting, pruning, mulching and small-scale landscaping at its permaculture garden at the Sustainability Centre every Sunday from 11.30am to 4pm.
