Inspiring and dynamic teacher is recognised

AN “outstanding” assistant headteacher at a Warwick school who has been praised for his “dynamic and adventurous spirit” has won a national teaching award.

Jonathan Targett, assistant headteacher at Myton School, was selected as winner of The Ted Wragg Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Midlands for the 2012 Pearson Teaching Awards.

The school surprised Mr Targett, who has worked at the school for 32 years, with a special congratulatory assembly on Wednesday, before he goes on to be presented with the accolade at a ceremony in the autumn, which will be broadcast on BBC2.
