It would be lovely to see this fair show

A MUSICAL treat with memorable songs such as ‘Wouldn’t It Be Lovely?’ will be performed at Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre this month.

Coventry Musical Theatre Society will tell the story of My Fair Lady next Thursday to Saturday.

With a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, the musical is adapted from George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion.

My Fair Lady will be the third production the society has staged at the Belgrade Theatre, following their NODA Award Winning productions of ‘Copacabana’ in 2009 and ‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast’ in 2010.

Society chairman Terry Bright said: “We started rehearsing the show six months ago and have a fifty strong cast of very talented performers from the city and surrounding area.”

For the first time in the society’s history, a mid-week matinee has been added to the schedule on Thursday June 23 at 3pm, as well as a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
