Keira’s marathon dinner raises £1,200 for veterans

A LEAMINGTON waitress who is also in training for the London marathon had the chance to take the weight off her feet recently, when she raised £1,200 by holding a charity meal.

Keira Lightbody raised more than £1,200 for the veterans charity Combat Stress at a meal and auction at Le Bistrot Pierre last month.

Keira is running in memory of her cousin Nic Crouch, a former paratrooper killed in Iraq while working as a private security guard protecting US troops building a hospital.

He had supported the charity, which helps former servicepeople suffering from mental health problems.
