Keen archer Emma Davis has taken her love of sport to the next level with the three-week challenge to try a host of new activities including wrestling, rowing and cycling.

And after deciding 31 new sports wasn’t enough, she has even tried her hand at a Paralympic sport with wheelchair racing.

The 24-year-old said it is all about raising awareness of sport and fitness and bringing in donations for international charity, Right to Play.

“I just wanted to challenge myself to have a go at every Olympic sport in the time period of the games,” she said

“I have tried a lot of new things so far, it has been a really interesting few weeks.

The ones I’ve never tried before I have been tagging on with a coaching session, but if I’m more confident I have been playing matches.

“So far I haven’t found a sport I didn’t like. It has been a brilliant introduction to so many different activities.”

Emma, a postgraduate student at Warwick University, said she has been getting through up to three sports each day since the Olympic opening ceremony in Rio.

Her determination has already taken her to a host of new clubs and sports teams across Warwickshire in the run up to the final days of the three-week task.

Being president of her university’s archery club, she is no stranger to sports such as football and cycling - but hopes to inspire others in the process.

“It has been so easy to find all of these sports,” she said.

“We are so lucky around Warwickshire that there seems to be a chance to get involved in all of these sports.

“I’m trying to get as much community engagement as possible, so I’ve been in contact with a lot of clubs to arrange sessions and am trying to get friends to come and experience something new too.”

Emma will continue the challenge for another week, rounding off her mission with golf and equestrian training to coincide with the official closing ceremony on Sunday.

She is grouping some activities into larger categories to make it through as many Olympic sports as possible.

And has already tried her hand at new activities, Olympic weightlifting, wrestling and badminton.

She hopes the challenge will raise money and awareness of Right to Play, a charity that helps children and young people in deprived areas get access to the benefits of sport.

As well as delivering education and equal opportunities, volunteers work to deliver vital health and disease avoidance guidance.

Emma, has already raised over £250 for the group’s work, but donations can be made online at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/archeryemma
