The scheme, known as ‘Walking for Health’, is a national initiative that Abbey Medical Centre got involved with recently. The first walk happened on Friday March 3, and was atteneded by 16 people.

The centre’s manager Ryan Smith laid out a 30-minute walk in Abbey Fields. Although the weather was poor for most of the day, the rain eventually stopped and the walkers enjoyed the stroll.

Ryan said: “We are now doing this walk every Friday at 12.30pm, and will soon be adding further routes to suit all ages and abilities.

“Anyone can take part in the walk, and are invited to enjoy a cuppa in the Kenilworth Centre afterwards to carry on chatting with their fellow walkers.”

Anyone interested in taking part can ask at Abbey Medical Centre reception, email Ryan at [email protected], or call Clive Reynolds on 07966 371732 for further information.
