Kenilworth Soroptimists announce new president

Kenilworth and District Soroptimists announced its new president at its recent AGM.

Tricia Weinbren, a member of the club for four years, will be replacing Elaine Clark in the role.

Tricia said: “It is a tremendous honour to be the president this year, and I am delighted to have this opportunity to focus on the way in which women across the world are able to make contact through the advent of mass communication.

“As president I will deliver a year of activities that support women’s rights, technology development and fund raising for charity.”

At a local level the club will continue to support the Women’s Refuge, Myton Hospice and cancer support charity Look Good, Feel Better .

Nationally the Soroptimists will support and fund raise for ovarian cancer. Internationally, members will continue to fund raise to support the charity ‘Friends of Sick Children in Malawi,’ the education of nursing staff, and an outreach project educating children about domestic abuse in Malawi.

Tricia, a retired nurse and beauty therapist, has lived in Kenilworth since 2009.
