King goes under the hammer at hospital

A 17th century portrait of Henry VIII has been sold in Warwick for £12,000 - double its original estimate.

The unsigned work was among a collection of paintings and antiques sold at Lord Leycester Hospital by auctioneers Bleasdales on behalf of Anne, Lady Winnington.

The Winnington family estate was at Stanford Court, Worcestershire, until the end of the 1940s when the house was sold.

Their history in public life spans 350 years from the English Civil War to World War II.
