Warwickshire Police have said: “The Leamington Local Investigation Team are looking into allegations of damage and theft at the premises in Court Street.

“They are also appealing for anyone with any information or anyone who saw anything suspicious between 6pm on 31 March and 10pm on Apri 1 outside the site of the club to contact Det Con Mark Hewston on 415000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where the information can be given anonymously.”

Amara was granted its licence to operate as a sexual entertainment venue last year, with the club offering lap dances costing up to £550.
The venue’s change of use application for it to operate as a nightclub with extended opening hours was rejected by Warwick District Council’s planning committee in September.
An appeal was lodged against this decision by the applicant Natalie Beejadhur.

But the district council had also taken enforcement action against the owners of Amara for unathorised use of the building.
An appeal against this action has been put forward by Miss Beejadhur but it is unclear whether this will be heard.

Plans are being made by a number of interested parties to re-open the venue as a nightclub without sexual entertainment and to spend £200,000 on renovating the premises.
