Leamington Carnival will be back again in 2016

The event made a brief return last year after a 19-year hiatus, but was cancelled this year due to lack of support.
But former contestant on The Apprentice, businesswoman and experienced event organiser Jo Cameron has teamed up with carnival committee chairman and CJs Events director Jamie Walker, businesswoman Caroline Kempster, Barclays Bank relationship director Kathy MacLauchlan and others to form an operational team to run the event on Saturday July 9.
Jo said: “I love living in Leamington.

“As soon as I heard the carnival needed help to get it back to its best I jumped at the chance.
“The carnival gave me some fantastic memories as a child and it’s a brilliant community event to be part of.”
The carnival will have the theme of gaming and technology to showcase Leamington’s reputation as ‘Silicon Spa’.

Warwick Printing and Kia Warwick are the first businesses to sponsor the event and the organisers are appealing for more companies to have floats or to also sponsor the carnival. BID Leamington and Warwick District Council are also giving their support to the event.
The carnival last year attracted thousands of people to the town centre and included a festival at the Pump Room Gardens.
Before that there had not been a carnival in Leamington since 1996.
