Leamington FC assistant manager Liam O’Neill leaves club after ‘agreement’ with boss Paul Holleran

A statement on the club’s official website says: “Leamington FC confirm that the four plus year long partnership between manager Paul Holleran and assistant manager Liam O’Neill has come to an end with O’Neill departing the club following discussions between them and agreement being reached that it was in both their interests to move on.

“Both Paul and the club would like to thank Liam for his contribution and considerable efforts on behalf of the club and wish him every success for the future.”

Following his departure O’Neill, who helped the club to win promotion to the Conference North in 2013 before they were relegated to The Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division last season, took to Facebook to thank fans.

He said: “Unfortunately my four-and-a-half years at Leamington FC as assistant manager has officially come to an end.

“So with a very heavy heart Id like to express huge thanks to all the Brakes fans for their unbelievable and continuous support during my time at the New Windmill and nationwide.

“Together we’ve experienced more ups than downs and along the way tasted the sweetness of promotion and felt the pain of a relegation mixed with many other fantastic memories that I’ll never forget.

“I thank you all.”
