Cllr Martyn Ashford, Chairman of Warwick District Council, said: “It’s almost a year since the gravity of this virus became apparent, and our unsung heroes across the district continue to put themselves at the forefront of the pandemic.

"Our show of support and solidarity in lighting up our iconic landmarks reminds our key workers that we acknowledge their sacrifice and are united in tackling this together.

"It’s important for us all to remember that we must do everything we can to protect ourselves, each other and our local NHS services by staying home as much as possible, washing our hands, covering our face, and making space.”

The flag at Leamington Town Hall was also flown at half-mast on Wednesday February 3, in tribute to Captain Sir Tom Moore.
