Leamington town hall defibrillator found after it was feared lost or stolen

The lifesaving device was taken by a woman to use in an emergency at an address in Bedford Street in February and was feared lost or stolen when it was not returned.

CCTV cameras caught footage of the woman contacting the ambulance service to get the unlocking code for the device before running through the Benjamin Satchwell pub on the Parade to Bedford Street.

While the search took place, businessman Barry Geaney donated £1,300 to replace the defibrillator.

But this week Warwickshire Police announced they had found the device, which was not used during the emergency because paramedics had arrived at the scene.

Leamington town clerk Robert Nash, who helped with the search, said the spare device is now in the possession of Adrian Lewis of the Defibfinder organisation and that it is hoped it will be attached to the wall outside the Angel Hotel in Regent Street.
