Library closes as work on the new one begins

Southam’s library is set to close this month to make way for a new development which will include a brand new library facility.

As we have previously reported, the development will provide extra care housing, a new library and a Warwickshire Direct base comprising county council, district council, police and other public agencies’ services, on the combined site of Victor Hodges House and the existing library.

The library is being temporarily relocated to Unit 9, Brewster’s Corner, Pendicke Street, until the new building is complete.

Warwickshire County Council’s David Carter said the new Warwickshire Direct at Southam “will bring a wonderful focal point to the area and one which will bring local people together.”
