Limo set to be full of hot air for hospice

FUNERAL directors are showing their less sombre side by filling a limo with balloons in an effort to raise cash for Myton Hospice.

Staff at John Taylor Funeral Service are taking part in an Alan Sugar-style challenge set them by the hospice.

They have 50 days to turn £50 donated by the company into as much money as possible for Myton Hospice.

And they will be competing against 17 other businesses in the area to win the challenge.

Staff member Max Burton came up with the bright idea of filling a funeral car with balloons and getting people to pay to guess how many are inside.

The holder of the winning ticket will enjoy a Sunday lunch for two at The Orange Tree in Chadwick End, near Warwick.

Rob Ripley, principal funeral director, said: “Max has offered to make this even better by picking up the winners in a limousine, take them for lunch, and also drive them home after their meal.”

Eddy Talbot, another staff member, has offered to help Max with this challenge and drive and park the limousine in and around Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth during weekends to drum up support.

The funeral directors will also have a stall at CJ’s car boot sale on Sunday, April 22, at Stoneleigh Park.

Items can be donated at its funeral homes in Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth and in Rugby.

Mr Ripley added: “The more you can donate the more we can raise for Myton Hospice. So please give generously.

“If you do not have anything but would like to help this challenge then pop along to CJ’s and by lots of items from our stall, this way you can get a bargain and also feel good about supporting the John Taylor team.

“We will be organising lots of fundraising events during this challenge so please watch out for the window displays to see how you can help us win this 50-day competition and raise as much as we can for the Myton Hospice.

“The team at John Taylors enjoy organising and taking part in fundraising events – we feel we are helping our community by putting something back.”
