Little ‘king’ gets his crown

HE rocked and rolled and wowed the crowds - now Leamington’s own Little Elvis has proved his moves, charms and talents are among the best in Europe.

Seven-year-old Sylvain Saint-Simon went home as winner of the European Elvis Championships’ novice section, which took place in Birmingham on Saturday, after competing against adult tribute acts from around the continent.

His mother Sharon Murphy said: “His performance was flawless. He did the Elvis walk-out, saluted the crowd and he said ‘happy birthday’ to Elvis.

“It was perfect. I have never seen him perform like that.”

The St Paul’s Primary School pupil had to wait until the early hours of Sunday morning to find out how he had done.

Ms Murphy said: “It was 2.30am and Sylvain was asleep on my lap. I had to take him on stage half asleep.

“But later that day he was up dancing and went to school on Monday with his trophy, full of energy.”
