London to Istanbul fundraiser’s bicycle stolen in Leamington

THE BICYCLE used by a Warwick University student to cycle from London to Istanbul over Easter was stolen in Leamington yesterday.

Luke Parry rode the 2,400-mile route to raise money for the New Zealand Earthquake Appeal.

The custom-made bicycle, which has a silver and green Vitus frame and figure of eight handle bars, was stolen from the bike stand under the railway bridge in Old Town between 11am and 4pm yesterday (Wednesday).

The lock had been cut.

Mr Parry said: “The main thing is that I’ve cycled thousands of miles on it and I’ve only had it for one year, that is the biggest loss.”

If anybody sees the bicycle or has information about the theft contact police on 415000.
