Long-time Leamington Irish Club member Phylis turns 100

St Patrick’s Irish Club in Leamington has paid tribute to a long-time member who turned 100 this week.

Phylis Godfrey was born on May 6 1915.

The mother of three boys was married to her late husband Fredrick for 48 years. During the Second World War she worked at a parts factory in Radford Semele.

A keen gardener and good cook, Mrs Godfrey has always had an active social life in and around Leamington.

She also likes sequence dancing and she loves animals.

A presentation attended by parliamentary candidate Chris White was made at the club on Tuesday.
