Lorry fire near Kenilworth closes two lanes on A46
A lorry fire on the southbound A46 near Kenilworth is causing delays to motorists this morning (Wednesday July 6) after two lanes were closed.
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the fire at around 9.20am and discovered the HGV well alight in the slow lane between Thickthorn Island and Leek Wootton.
The driver managed to detach his burning cab from the trailer, preventing the fire from spreading further.
The detached trailer caused an obstruction, meaning two lanes had to be closed.
Crews were on scene for about 45 minutes.
