Lots to crow about at Crick Scarecrow Festival


Dozens of straw-stuffed characters were dotted around the village. There was also a music festival, stalls, games and more.
Buses from DACT were on hand to help people get around the village to see the different scarecrows, which ranged from the friendly and traditional to the downright scary as visitors voted to pick the winner from the festival.

Hide AdThere were also teas available – the team running the tea and cake stall in Church Street raised £2,400 for the air ambulance over the weekend.


Civil War re-enactors the Sealed Knot were in the village to take people back almost 400 years.
Roger Lowe, who is the on the Scarecrow Festival Committee in Crick, said: “The whole weekend was brilliant and we had hundreds of visitors out enjoying the sunshine – and the scarecrows.”
He said the festival featured around 90 scarecrows.
