Major junction in Leamington to close for two months for sewerage works

Severn Trent’s ongoing £11 million project to upgrade the sewers in Leamington will move on to the junction at Bath Street, Clemens Street and High Street next Saturday (Septembere 28).

At the same time, sections of gas and water pipes are being replaced by utilities providers.

To help counteract the disruption, Severn Trent and Warwick District Council have organised for two hours’ free parking to be available in Court Street for people visiting Old Town and there is a free shuttle bus - number 71 - to improve links to High Street. Free radio advertising has also been offered to businesses in the area which may affected by the diminished traffic flow.

The company also continues to run a weekly surgery at the Old Town Business Association in High Street on Thursday mornings for anyone with concerns and queries regarding the road closures.

Severn Trent’s senior programme engineer Chris Keys said: “In the final stage of our work, I can assure the community that we won’t be here for long - but the new sewers will be. We are committed to keeping disruption to a minimum and would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”
