Man arrested after attempted robbery

POLICE have arrested a man following an alleged attempted robbery in a Leamington park on Monday.

The 39-year-old Leamington man was questioned at Leamington police station yesterday (Tuesday May 1) in relation to an incident in which a man grabbed the rucksack of a man walking up Mill Passage towards Newbold Terrace at around 3.45pm and demanded the bag, punching his victim in the face.

The suspect was released on conditional police bail late on Tuesday, pending further enquiries.
