Man assaulted during robbery at Leamington flat

The robbery took place at a residential address on Morton Street at approximately 1am. A man forced his way into the home of a 57-year-old man and went on to assault and rob him.

During the robbery, the victim’s 22-year-old grandson returned home.

The suspect threatened both victims with a metal chain and physically assaulted the 57-year-old, causing minor injuries.

After the incident, the suspect left the house onto Clarendon Street.

The younger victim pursued him onto Leicester Street and Lansdowne Street before losing him on Thomas Street.

The items stolen include a laptop, sat nav, personal keys and wallets containing money, some of which have now been recovered.

The suspect is described as white with a tanned complexion, around 40 years-of-age, between 5”5 and 5”8 in height, of a broad build, clean shaven with short thinning hair.

He also appeared to have stitches on his right hand somewhere between his thumb and forefinger. At the time of the burglary he was wearing a dark hooded coat/jacket, dark trousers and a silver cross or similar pendant around his neck.
