Man charged following double canalboat burglary

TWO canal narrowboats were broken into in Lapworth at the end of last year and a man has now been charged.

Mark Coffey, 20, of Raphael Close, Coventry, has been charged with two counts of burglary after he was arrested yesterday (Tuesday).

He was arrested by Warwickshire Police on Tuesday in connection with the burglaries on the two narrowboats which were being used as residential accommodation.

Both of the boats were moored on the Grand Union Canal near to Old Warwick Road in Lapworth, to the west of Warwick.

Coffey has now been released on bail to appear before the magistrates in Leamington on Friday March 16.
