Man killed in car crash on New Year’s Day

The green Volkswagen Golf was travelling along Welsh Road when the vehicle left the road.

Two males in the car were taken to Warwick Hospital.

One sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at hospital.

The other was treated for less serious injuries and was later released from hospital.

Police who are investigating the collision are appealing for anyone who was driving along Welsh Road, Cubbington, at around 6.15am on Sunday and who may have seen the VW before the crash happened.

The car was being driven from the direction of Cubbington towards Offchurch.

Police are also appealing for anyone who was walking along Welsh Road at around that time, or any motorists who saw any pedestrians walking along the road, to come forward.

They are asked to contact Sgt Mick Hogan, of the Major Investigation Unit Roads, on 415415.

The name of the deceased will not be released until formal identification processes have been completed.
