Man suffers facial injuries in Leamington mugging

ROBBERS attacked a man and stole his watch in a mugging in Leamington in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The robbery took place on the path to the footbridge between Pump Room Gardens and the former library in York Road.

Two men, described as being of slim build, approached the man asking him for money, but then assaulted him and stole a silver coloured analogue watch with a black face.

The man suffered facial injuries and was taken to Warwick Hospital for treatment.

Police are checking CCTV footage and appealing for any witnesses who can help identify the offenders to come forward.
