Daniel Lawrence had pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to five charges of burglary and one of having a bladed article, while Jamie Considine admitted four of the burglaries.

After entering their pleas via a video link from the prison where they were on remand, the case was adjourned for them to appear in court to be sentenced.

He was given a concurrent six-month sentence for having the bladed article, a Stanley knife which Recorder Richard Wilson QC ordered to be destroyed.

Considine, 21, of Beauchamp Road, Kenilworth, was jailed for three years and four months.

When they entered their pleas the court had heard that on October 11 last year the two men had broken into two flats in Yew Tree Court, Leamington, with intent to steal.

Having got nothing there, Lawrence burgled a property in Tachbrook Street from where he stole an i-Phone; and prosecutor Lal Amarasinghe accepted Considine’s not guilty plea to that offence.

The same day the two of them also broke into a house in Wych Elm Drive, Leamington, from where they escaped with an Apple Mac computer and a television, and an apartment in Regency Place with intent to steal.

In addition, the court heard that Lawrence was found with a Stanley knife in St George’s Road.
