Missing man is thought to have been travelling to Leamington

Paul Smith, 45, of Saltburn-by-the-Sea in Cleveland, was last seen at his parents’ home in Portland on Friday November 7 when he said he was going to find somewhere to live in the Bournemouth area.

He was reported missing by his concerned parents on Wednesday November 12.

Insp Rob Jacobs, of Dorset Police, said: “Concern is increasing for Paul.

“I urge Paul to get in touch as soon as possible – we simply need to know that he is safe and well.

“Our investigations have revealed that Paul is believed to have got on a South West Trains service at 7.25am on Friday November 7 from Weymouth railway station and arrived in Bournemouth at 8.24am.

“Paul is then believed to have boarded a cross country train at 8.45am from Bournemouth and arrived in Coventry at 11.23am.

“We understand Paul may have used a train to get to Leamington on Saturday November 8. He has not been seen or heard from since.”

Mr Smith is described as white, approximately five feet eight inches tall, of slight build, with short neat brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a long dark brown coat with large pockets, grey chino-style trousers and light brown canvas shoes.

His mother, Jannett Davey, said: “I am urging anyone who was on those trains in Weymouth and Bournemouth and who may have seen Paul, who has information about where he is, to please get in contact with Dorset Police.

“We just want to know Paul is safe and well. If you can help us, it will make our Christmas.”
