Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash near Hatton

A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital after a crash involving a pick-up truck near Hatton this morning (Tuesday July 12).

The biker, a man in his 40s, had been in collision with the pick-up truck in Birmingham Road near Hatton Locks at around 9.10am.

He suffered serious arm injuries, a cut to his neck and suspected pelvic injuries. Paramedics stabilised the motorcyclist’s condition and he was flown to University Hospital, Coventry by the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance for emergency treatment.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesman praised “excellent” first aid administered by police officers, and added that help had also been given by a passing cyclist, who was an off-duty paramedic from Birmimgham.

There were no other injuries in the crash.
