Motorists are being urged to drive carefully today after this newspaper van ended up in a watery ditch in a Harborough district village this morning (Tuesday).

The white Simms Newsagents motor crashed after leaving a “greasy and damp” road on Mill Lane, Gilmorton, near Lutterworth, police said.

“Lutterworth Police have come across this vehicle in water on Mill Lane, Gilmorton, roads greasy and damp," said the police.

A spokesman for Simms Newsagents, based on Station Road, Lutterworth, said they are now trying to establish exactly how the early morning accident happened.

Yesterday (Monday), another van ended up in a water-filled ditch after coming off the road on Pincet Lane in North Kilworth, near Lutterworth, in driving rain.
