MP celebrates village firm’s achievement

SUPPORT for a Radford Semele firm that is providing the British Army with vehicles for operations in Afghanistan has been demonstrated by Jeremy Wright MP when he visited a London show.

The Kenilworth and Southam Conervative MP, who attended the Defence and Security Equipment Show, was given the chance to sit in the driver’s seat of the Ocelot protected patrol vehicle, which was built by Force Protection Europe, the headquarters of which are in Southam Road in the village near Leamington.

The MOD has ordered 200 of the vehicles, which will be used by troops next year.

Mr Wright said: “Force Protection Europe is revolutionising the way equipment is designed and supplied to the MOD, speeding up processes and producing innovative and robust equipment.

“Companies like this need to be supported and encouraged and I will do all I can to ensure this local company continues to be successful.”
