Murder suspect arrested at Kenilworth garage

A man has been arrested in Kenilworth on suspicion of murdering a pensioner in Luton.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the Jet petrol station in Warwick Road on Tuesday evening on suspicion of murder after a pensioner was killed at his home.

Several police cars were at the garage on Tuesday evening and an arrest was made.

67-year-old Len Flower was killed at his home in Carnegie Gardens home on Tuesday afternoon and was found by a member of the public who was delivering leaflets in the area.

Detective Chief Inspector Jason Gordon from Bedfordshire police said a man was arrested in Warwickshire and that investigations would continue.

a statement read: “This is a violent incident that has left a family and community in total shock.

“The victim was at home tidying his garage when he was violently and savagely set upon in an unprovoked attack.

“While we have a man in custody, it is very important that anyone who has information about the incident comes forward and speaks to the police.

“We need to build a picture of what led to this murder and why he came to be a victim in this horrific event. Our deepest sympathies are with his family at this time.”

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said: “A man was arrested at a garage on Warwick Road just before 7pm on Tuesday evening.

“He will now be questioned by officers at Bedfordshire police.”
