Foundry Wood, which was developed by the Leamington-based ARC community interest company and built by volunteers, was open for the day, giving visitors the chance to take guided or self-guided tours around the site (formerly part of the Ford Foundry) and discover what has been done there over the past two years since the previously derelict land was bought by developer Trilogy.

Adults and children were also give the chance to learn how to weave their own baskets, turn and carve wood and build dens and there was live music, children’s craft activities and stalls run by environementally-friendly organisations in the area.

The woodland is running a series of events and workshops over the summer. For details and to organise an event at the wood, call Kristie Naimo on 07906 262364 or visit www.foundrywood.co.uk
