Police are preparing a report for the coroner on the death of the 53-year-old doctor, who ran the surgery in partnership with her husband, Dr Henry White.

Following a post mortem, police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death but officers are now awaiting the results of further toxicology tests before preparing a full report for the coroner.

Patients queued outside the medical centre in Slade Hill last Wendesday and were surprised to be told to take any urgent complaints to Warwick Hospital.

The surgery was re-opened again by Thursday with locum doctors.

This week Warwick patient Marcus Hayman, aged 45, said: “It was a complete shock to hear of Dr Allim’s death.

“I’ve had epilepsy since I was 17 and Dr Allim always gave me such amazing support - referring me to several specialists and, if she felt they didn’t give me the right help, referring me on to a new one, always fighting my corner.”

Another patient, Amanda Chalmers, who lives in Hatton Park, said: “Dr Allim was a most respected professional in her field and a very friendly and positive character, extremely well liked by her patients. She was quick to put you at your ease and both she and her husband helped with charity work in Uganda.”

It emerged last week that the medical centre was being investigated by the police amid allegations of fraud.

A woman from Warwick was questioned in connection with the ongoing investigation and has since been released on bail. Police are treating Dr Allim’s death as “unexplained.”

They were called to the house in Norton Lindsey at 2.20pm last Wednesday after being alerted by Warwickshire ambulance officers who were already in attendance. Dr Allim was declared dead at the scene.
