Rebecca Roberts has taken over from former Arson Reduction Officer Les Moore, who recently retired.

Her previous roles include working in the Community Safety Team at Leicestershire County Council, as a team leader for the Prince’s Trust for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and as a multi-agency prevention worker within the Youth Offending Service.

Rebecca said: “I am pleased to be the new arson reduction officer for the county. The job is an interesting one and I look forward to working with partner agencies to help make Warwickshire a safer place.

“My main priority is obviously to get to know the area and the people to best understand the issues they face. I have already been out on the small fires unit and that has given me a real insight into the great work already being undertaken here in Warwickshire. However, I am keen to look at how we can develop these types of schemes to ensure that arson remains low in the county.”

Warwickshire County Councillor and Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, Councillor John Horner said: “I would like to welcome Rebecca to the county and to Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service. I am sure that she will be a great asset to the Arson Reduction Team and I look forward to seeing some of the great work, both she and the team are involved in.”

Warwickshire County Councillor Philip Johnson, Chair of the council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee added: “Rebecca brings with her a wealth of experience from previous roles working with young people and with other fire and rescue services. I am sure that she will do a great job and I wish her all the very best in her new role.”
