New cars for county’s lifesavers

VOLUNTEER lifesavers in Warwickshire can follow up emergency calls in new equipped cars.

West Midlands Ambulance Service has set up the vehicles to assist community first responders at locations across the county, including at Gaydon, Oxhill, Ettington and Kenilworth.

The responders are volunteers who have been trained by the service to a nationally recognised level to help save lives in instances when ambulance crews may take some time to arrive.

The cars, which include medical kits and a digital radio that allows for direct communication with the service’s control room and other ambulance crews, will ensure that they can get to the scene as soon as possible and with the necessary equipment.

Anyone interested in becoming a repsonder should call Ian Inglesant, West Midlands Ambulance Service’s community response manager, on 07795 027 284, the CFR admin office on 01743 273677 or email [email protected]
