New director at south Warwickshire hospital trust
Dr Charles Ashton has been appointed the new medical director at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT), which runs Warwick Hospital and the Central Rehabilitation Unit in Warwick Gates.
The Middlesex Hospital Medical School graduate and former consultant has worked as medical director before at Worcestershire and also chairs the Solihill clinical reference group for urgent care and is a secondary care representative on the Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group. When himself a doctor, he specialised in strokes and care of the elderly.
He takes over from SWFT’s acting medical director Dr Jyothi Nippani, who is now returning to her role as consultant in the trust’s obstetrics and gynaecology department.
