New festival at Warwick campus with music, comedy, cooking and more

The BBC’s Saturday Kitchen regular chef Vivek Singh and polar explorer Mark Wood are among the guests appearing at a new festival at the University of Warwick.

To celebrate the university’s 50th anniversary, its campus will host the Festival of Imagination on October 16 and 17, at which the central theme will be ‘imagining the future’.

The site’s Butterworth Hall will showcase the university’s research and learning, with topics including the future of solar powered trees and how chocolate-powered racing cars work.

Chef Vivek Singh will explore how certain foods can improve our health, singer Pauline Black of The Selector will reflect on the social effect of the musical genre and the programme includes music, comedy and events that cover social issues and arts and science.
