It’s understood a local businessman is negotiating to take over the lease of the shop, more recently known as Wylies, where many of the fixtures and fittings date back to 1895.

Former leaseholder Charlie Collett, famous for his mutton-chop whiskers, now does bespoke ornamental ironwork from a forge at his home.
