New sensory garden launched at Jephson Gardens in Leamington


Designed and nurtured by Warwick District Council’s Green Spaces team, the garden includes raspberries and blackberries for visitors to pick and eat as well as various fragrant, textured and colourful plants to stimulate the senses.
There is also a xylophone which people can play, a mirrored archway, benches and insect homes to encourage pollinating insects.

Hide AdTo coincide with the launch, the district council is also running Project Sunflower.


Ten primary schools across the district have been given sunflower plugs, pots and compost and children from st Theresa’s Primary School in Cubbington were at the launch to plant their seeds in the sensory garden.
Before cutting the ribbon to open the garden Cllr Jane Knight, the vice chairman of the district council, gave a speech in which she thanked all those who played a part in its creation.
Also present was new Leamington mayor Cllr Amanda Stevens.
