Norovirus not over at Warwick Hospital

THERE is still one ward affected by suspected Norovirus at Warwick Hospital.

The outbreak of Norovirus first appeared in the area in December, and lead to the closures of several wards at Warwick Hospital, as well as Leamington Rehabilitation Hospital and the Ellen Badger Hospital in Shipston-on-Stour.

Norovirus is a seasonal viral infection which causes vomiting and diarrhoea. It is very infectious and often occurs in outbreaks in communities such as schools, institutions and families. It can be brought into hospitals and spreads rapidly.

The South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust has announced that there is one ward now affected at Warwick Hopsital - the Farries Ward.

There will be no visiting on this ward in order to prevent further spread of the virus to both patients and visitors.
