Nurses are ready to take on the Big Ben for Myton Hospices

TWO nurses will be pushing themselves to the limit next month to raise money for The Myton Hospices.

Senior staff nurses Wendy Reay and Andy Houghton, who work at the Warwick hospice, will be taking part in The Half Big Ben Nevis Triathlon on Saturday 15th September and are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

The event includes a 950m sea and loch swim, a 45k mountain bike ride and a 10.5k hill run half way up Ben Nevis and back. The pair have been training hard and have raised more than £1,500 so far.

Ms Reay said: “I am really looking forward to the event. I enjoy a challenge and don’t feel nervous at all at the moment – but no doubt I will when Andy and I are standing at the start line looking pretty fetching in our wetsuits.”

Mr Houghton has also signed up for the Soroptimist Swimathon in October. For more information visit www.mytonhospice.org
