Appalled by mess in Pump Room Gardens

It seems that local workers and residents enjoy sitting in the sun but seem to see no reason why they should take put their litter in the nearby bins. After these people have gone the job is finished by those sad souls with substance misuse problems who add broken bottles and various bodily fluids to the heady mix.

The council contractors do a great job clearing this up, but I think it time they stopped for a while so that those who make this mess can enjoy the sitting amongst it the next day and the rest of us can see just what a problem this is.

So my suggesting. Stop clearing up for a week during a period of hot sunny weather and follow this with a media campaign and a period of intense zero-tolerance enforcement of relevant littering and public order offences. It might be miserable for the innocent, but in my view worth it.
