Back where we started with new homes

I was fascinated to read in the Courier last week that the Tory administration of Warwick District Council have come up with an annual number for new housing for the district almost exactly the same as the number which was proposed in the draft Core Strategy which was developed with the regional policy they so hated, together with negotiation in the Coventry and Warwickshire sub-region.

It does not seem to have been worth leaving local planning in virtual limbo for two years or more, and it would be interesting to know what the costs of this additional process have been for the council taxpayers, employing consultants, undertaking public consultation and paying for planning officers’ time, simply to end up with the same result. - Bob Crowther, Clarendon Street, Leamington.
