Bike thefts are huge inconvenience

After seeing the photograph and reading the report of the theft of yet another motorcycle from the area (Warwick Courier last week) I sympathise with the owner and understand all that was written in his report.

My son’s motorcycle was also stolen from the Woodloes Estate in September. He has just received the insurance payment which was less than half that was paid for the bike less than three months previous, taking into account excess, under value etc. These thefts cause great inconvenience and loss of money to the owners along with huge frustration that the culprits never seem to be caught.

We also were victims of another theft of goods taken from our property in October. Both incidents were reported to the police and given a crime number but to my disbelief neither of these crimes warranted even a visit from our local police.

So it was huge satisfaction to see the photograph of the culprits in the newspaper for all to see and I hope that this helps the police in making arrests as, from what I understand, they are aware of groups who are responsible for the crimes in the area but never seem able to catch them in the act.

Also, reading another edition of your paper reporting the drop in local crimes I find that surprising and imagine that a lot of people do not bother to report thefts as so little interest is taken and nothing ever done about them. - Name and address supplied.
